The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo 2023

100 mins | Rated G

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is returning to cinemas with its brand new 2023 show, a musical journey entitled 'Stories'. As ever, military acts will play a prominent role in the Show, with the Royal Air Force (RAF) as the lead service. Set against the spectacular backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, the Tattoo Arena will play host to impressive cultural showcases from Norway, The United States, Australia, Trinidad and Tobago and Switzerland, alongside acts from across the UK and Ireland. From the musical prowess of the Massed Pipes & Drums, supported by the Tattoo Dancers and Fiddlers, the physical storytelling of dance and precision drill, and stunning imagery captured through light and projections, audiences will be transported and enthralled. The Show will be a celebration of sagas, myths and legends, taking cinema audiences on a journey of ideas - from the earliest campfire stories through to the world stage.

Australian participants are: The Scots College Sydney Pipes and Drums, The Scots College Sydney Old Boys Pipes and Drums and The Scots School Albury Pipe Band.

This October the Tattoo returns to the big screen with the stellar contribution of kiwi Creative Director, Michael Braithwaite, who once again, will deliver a Tattoo full of excitement, energy and surprise.
